Croí Nua Spirituality Centre - Synodality A reason for Great Hope

I was at a talk about

Synodality - A Reason for Great Hope

(4 hours long)

it was in

Croí Nua Spirituality Centre

Galway City

Some pics:

This was a really cool building. I was never there before.

The talk was by:

Julieann Moran. She is the General Secretary of the Synodal Pathway of the Catholic Church in Ireland

pic:

She was accidentally included in this pic. I was actually trying to capture the text on the screen

It related Synodality to the Gospel of Mark 2:1-12

We had to think about what everyone was thinking and feeling in the story

and

what we would do in that situation

Then it was basically talking about synodality and everyone said it was taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R

Also, we had to sit in circles and do a

'Conversation of Spirit'

I wasn't really sure what that was. It sounded a bit scary. I think they need to change the name.

Everyone sat in small circles

I had a smart group

Everyone took turns to speak for 2 minutes

Pause

No responses or interruptions.

Then any extra speaking 1 minute

Pause

No responses or interruptions

Then 3 minutes open chat

Apparently, that's how the Synod was run... (different time limits ...  lol )

Pope Francis Memory

I remember collecting coupons in the Irish Daily Mail and the Irish Mail on Sunday to get this commemorative medal. It took weeks, and perhaps a few extra runs to the shop. But now I can look at this and remember Pope Francis in Ireland

My Rite of Admission into the Secular Franciscan Order

Today I had my RITE OF ADMISSION into the Secular Franciscan Order in Galway. I have been learning for a year and now I am progressing in my Formation. It is the Secular Franciscan Order or Lay Franciscans. They gave me a little TAO cross and the Rule. The Rule isn't a book of rules btw It is daily prayers you're encouraged to pray and information on the Order.

St Mary's Dominican Church Claddagh Galway and an actual Prie Dieu

I was walking around Galway and I popped into  St. Mary's Dominican Church in the Claddagh I knew it was there because of the Knights of St Columbanus Camino last year but, I hadn't looked inside. Here are some pics (you know how to zoom in, don't you?) Just wow, isn't that amazing.. (not to mention all the cute little creatures) Another shot with the cute little creatures in focus, the barrier blocks the photo a bit Then there is an old fashioned confession box, but the Dominicans call it the  Sacrament of Reconciliation  One side says 'Kneeler' I assume that means the confessor The other side says 'seat' And last, but not least, inside the door an ACTUAL Prie-Dieu (Prayer Desk) The Prie-Dieu area There was a lot more, but I didn't want to appear like a tourist or something, maybe another day...
